Gangtok ..

Gangtok is the capital of the mountainous northern Indian state of Sikkim(1,600 m). A beautiful place with helpful people. I went there with my family. Nearest airport - Bagdogra Airport .We hired a jeep and it took about 4-5 hrs to reach. The hilly ranges , the mesmerizing beauty, the beautiful people , the chilling weather and the drizzling took our heart away. We were staying at office guest house from where we could see the full city.The guest house was next to the "Enchey monastery", one of the oldest one. We had a week trip there which was more than enough. Must visits in Gantok (as I did ) are:

1.Hamuman Tok

2.Ganesh Tok

3.Bakthang Waterfall(a small Zip line too)

4.Tsomgo Lake

5.MG Marg

6.Nathula Pass

7.Flower Show

The view of the third highest mountain of the world "Kangchenjunga" from Hanuman Tok is divine. The evening was spent on the MG Road along with hot sizzling momos .This is one of the best place to relax away from city life . The best part of the tour was the journey to tha "Nathu La" pass.The adventurous road with the breathtaking stories of accidents made the thrill. Tsomgo Lake -The frozen lake was a great view.The decrease in Oxygen level could be easily felt once we reached the Pass.The snow fall added to the beauty of high ranges.The snowfall and snow covered mountains took the breath away .On the way we passed the "Tsomgo Lake", -the frozen lake."Baba Mandir" is also having a historical significance.

I must say :- One of the memorable places I visited. It is mainly for those who want to relax away from the city noisy life.
