Thailand
I visited Thailand almost a year back. But the memories are still fresh. Thailand is a Southeast Asian country. It's known for tropical beaches, opulent royal palaces, ancient ruins and ornate temples displaying figures of Buddha.
We went as a group of 4 and had the main stay at Phuket and Krabi. Bangkok was just a single day stay and we spent the full day on shopping.
We had a flight to Phuket from New Delhi with a stop at Bangkok. Just a few hours at airport and finally we reach our destination -Phuket. A great place, the scenic beauty was just mesmerizing. We had our hotel at the Patong beach. It is a perfect location to spend a week. The beach was at a walking distance and the nearby streets converted into a happening place - a perfect nightlife.
From natural to pre-natural, from land-based to water activities, there's always something to see and do on Phuket Island. We had an island-hopping tour where we witnessed sheer limestone cliffs that vertically juts out from the green emerald water. The amazing caves on one island and long trees with monkeys on the other, every island was beautiful in its own way. The beaches are best place for relaxation and tranquility. A beautiful beach, green water, a t-shirt, a pair of shorts and bare foot, a perfect combination which can make anyone happy. After the full day, when you come back to Patong street, it welcomes you with great options of sea food. They have live lobsters, prawns and many others which you can choose yourself, and it will be served on your plate. The food has a great variety and taste too. We spent the next full day at the Patong beach, living in the sunshine and swimming in the sea and drinking the wild air. But always be ready to be sun burnt!! After the sun set get an awesome Aloe-Vera massage specially for sun burnt. There are many options for massage and it’s a great relaxation at a good price.
Now the night life welcomes us. It was an amazing experience and can’t be penned down. The street that seems to have everything to enjoy a wonderful night with much to do and see. This is the place where you can find venues with international standards along the street, hundreds of go-go bars, vendors, street performances, ladyboy bars, games and more.
An easy itinerary would be :
Day 1: James Bond & Phang Nga Tour
Day 2: Phi Phi Island and Phuket Town
Day 3: Phi Phi Island
After a couple of days at Phuket, we traveled to Phi Phi island and then to Krabi. The snorkeling and kayaking experience in Phi Phi was amazing. The clear water was just astonishing. Phi Phi has always been attracted by movies and hence its a superstar. When you are in Phi Phi don’t be in a hurry, don’t have any schedule, just relax and enjoy every moment. We had a ferry ride to Krabi. Situated along the Andaman coast of southern Thailand, Krabi is one of southern Thailand's most picturesque provinces with perfect beaches and stunning scenery.
We visited the emerald pool and hot water spring which gave altogether a different experience. Two trails of about one-kilometer lead through the jungle to the Emerald Pool “Sa Morakot” with its warm, turquoise crystal clear waters where local people and foreign tourists alike enjoy to take a swim. We also visited the Tiger Cave temple which was adventurous. You have to climb 1237 steps, and then will be able to see the full beautiful city. The view is breathtaking. But beware, there are lot of monkeys on the way.
So the journey of Krabi and Phuket comes to an end.
An easy itinerary would be :
Day 1: Day 1 - Island Hopping and snorkeling
Day 2: emerald pool, hot springs and Tiger Cave
Day 3: Explore the city and relax at the beach
Now we take a flight and reach Bangkok, a perfect place for shipping. We only had a day, so we went to Chatuchak Market. The Chatuchak Weekend Market, on Kamphaeng Phet 2 Road, Chatuchak, Bangkok, is the largest market in Thailand. Also known as JJ Market, it has more than 15,000 stalls and 11,505 vendors, divided into 27 sections. ( we were lucky to reach there on a Saturday). You really need a full day to explore the market. Don’t forget to taste the coconut ice-cream here.
A wonderful trip ends here. Thailand had a great hospitality and was a perfect destination when you want to take a break for the hustle life.
